*Read the hotline in its entirety! Information is subject to change weekly without further notice.

1. IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS

THANKSGIVING BREAK PRACTICE TIMES

*November 25 & 26:

-Pre-team, Levels 1, 2, Bronze: 9:30-11:30

-Levels 3, 4, 5, Silver, Gold, Platinum & Optionals: 11:00-2:00

*Holiday practices are not mandatory and do not affect Gold Star if you’re not able to make it. We offer practice times over holiday closings for those who are in town and do encourage those who are in town to attend as we are nearing our meet season.

*Excite! is closed for regular classes November 25-30th.

*Evening practices will not take place on November 25-26.

SNACKS AT PRACTICE

*For our levels who practice 3 or more hours at a time, we allow for them to bring a healthy snack to re-fuel their bodies between events. Please make sure that you are packing healthy options – not takis and Cheetos!

Great options include: An energy bar, bananas, apples, a fruit smoothie, crackers or pretzels, a granola bar, a peanut butter sandwich, apple sauce packets

ATHLETE EVALUATIONS

*Over the next couple of weeks, coaches will be completing athlete evaluations for each child with detailed feedback on their main skills for each event. We will note each skill’s meet readiness: working, achieving, or meet ready.

-Working: this means the athlete has not quite gotten the skill consistently. For anyone “working” skills, clinics or one-on-one time might be encouraged.

-Achieving: this means the athlete has achieved the skill pretty consistently, however might have technical issues within the skill that need to be fixed before being meet ready.

-Meet ready: this skill is ready to go! While it might not be perfect, the skill is being completed consistently with minimal deductions

*Coaches will also make notes on work ethic, discipline, artistry, flexibility, and more!

*Athlete evaluations will be given out at the end of practices on December 9, 10, and 11th. Evaluations are to be signed by the athlete and a parent and returned to the gym by Friday, December 13th.

BANQUET – DIETARY RESTRICTIONS

*Please email in any dietary restrictions for you and your gymnast by Monday, December 16th. Send to tammyh@excitegym.com.

PARENT VOLUNTEER RESPONSIBILITY – REQUIRED!

*Since we chose to skip hosting a sanctioned meet this season, our parent volunteer event will be the In House Meet for all levels. (Pre-team parents are not required to help at this event)

SAVE THE DATE! January 18th, 2025

*It is required for one parent from each family to help at this event, and there is a $150 fine for anyone who does not volunteer. If you have a pre-planned conflict, email into gymnastics@excitegym.com by Monday, November 4th.

*What is In House Meet?

In House Meet is our “recital” we put on for our recreational kiddos—they have been practicing routines and will show them off for their loved ones, just like a real gymnastics meet! It’s a big day for our rec kids and we like to go all out for them. The proceeds from this event go directly towards our gymnastics program, and it also helps promote tryouts for next season!

*How long?Volunteer sessions will be about 2 hours long. A sign-up genius to sign up for time slots will be posted on next week’s hotline.

*Athletes are not allowed to help their parents or sit with them at the event. We have 5-6 sessions of athletes and parents coming through, so there isn’t much extra space in the facility. Please plan accordingly!

*We will have a mandatory parent meeting on Friday, January 10th where we will go over parent responsibilities, expectations, and more.

PROFESSIONAL PHOTOS – NEW INFO

*Parents will be able to preorder/pay before the day of photos, so no messy paperwork or waiting in line to order. If you do not order before your Photo Day, our table attendant will guide you to a QR Code to fill out their order form.

All photos you purchase will be sent directly to your email address and there are plenty of fun extras you can add on!!
