PINK OUT FOR BREAST CANCER—October 6th *PINK OUT and bring in your extra change to support Debbie Helmstetter (an Excite! alumni) who just rang the bell after her battle with breast cancer. We will have a gym-wide contest to see which team brings the most change!
TRUNK OR TREAT—October 27th
*We will have our fourth annual Trunk or Treat at the gym on October 27th. If you are interested in volunteering your car for the Trunk or Treat, please email gymnastics@ by October 15th to let us know! -Costume contest and spooky games!
REMINDER—LEVELS SET IN STONE NOVEMBER 1ST
*Friendly reminder that levels will not be set in stone until November 1st. Coaches are always evaluating athletes’ skills, artistry, and routines, and we set our levels by the end of October. This is to ensure that the girls are in a level that fits their skillset and have a successful competitive season!
IMPORTANT MEET SCHEDULE UPDATE! (Platinum and Optionals ONLY!)
*We have made a couple of changes to the Platinum and Optionals meet schedule. With a combination of athletes wanting to compete TAAF and USAG, we will be doing a combination of meets from each “umbrella” of gymnastics. Please see the adjusted meet schedule below: -Texas Tough (TAAF) -Biles Invitational (USAG) -WOGA (USAG) -Beach Bash (TAAF) -USAG State meet for your level *If an athlete would like to attend the TAAF state meet as well, you will need to email in to gymnastics@ to let us know if they will attend Metroplex or ASI Lakewood as their third qualifying meet for TAAF state. *All athletes will have Biles and WOGA to qualify for USAG state. If they do not qualify at one of those meets and need Rose City Classic to qualify, we will use that as their make-up meet.
SUPPLIES AT PRACTICE—Levels 3, 4, 5, 6, Silver, Gold, Platinum *Please start bringing your gymnastics journal, ankle weights (3-5 lb), and a jump rope to all practices.
SATURDAY INTENSIVES *Saturday Intensives have begun! CLICK HERE TO ENROLL *Level 1, 2, and Bronze will need coaches’ approval before enrolling in intensives.
IN HOUSE MEET: January 6, 2024
-This meet is REQUIRED for one parent from each to volunteer (levels 1, 2, and Bronze). Failure to fulfill your volunteer requirement will result in a $150 fine, per the gymnastics handbook. UPCOMING PRACTICE CHANGES
*We will have practice Columbus Day, October 9th. *We will not have practice on Friday, October 13th, as the staff will be at a company outing.
2024 IN HOUSE CAMP DATES *In House Camp for all levels will be at Excite July 10-13, 2024. *This is included in team billing with no extra charge. Mandatory for all athletes.
EXCITE! EXPO
*Excite! Expo is our big season starting showoff each year! This is the first time that the girls get to show off their routines, they will get judged by Coach Janet on one event, and it is a great practice meet to set off the 2024 competition season! Mandatory for all athletes. Date: October 29th Tickets: Spectator entry for Expo will be $15/ticket. -We are renting more bleachers this year to help have more seating. Our staff will all be working to make a great experience for you along with setting up on Saturday and assisting all day Sunday. We want this to be a great FUN big deal and kick-off for a great confident season for all! -Tickets are already available to purchase! Log into your parent portal and find Expo tickets under events. Tickets will be $15. Children 5 and under are FREE. These will be available for you to pick up the week before the event.
Other information:
-We will also be giving the option to pre-purchase flowers. This will be on next week’s hotline.
-All details such as where to drop off, etc. will be released in a couple of weeks.
-We will be taking Team Pictures on this date and will be available for purchase the following week. (Individual photos will be taken on a different day)

PROSHOP UPDATE *SPIRIT SALE: Thank you to everyone who ordered from the spirit sale! All items should arrive by expo. You will receive an email when items are ready for pickup.
*EMBROIDERY: If you would like to get your athletes name on their backpack or warm up jacket, please take them to Flip Dog Sportswear located in our parking lot. 3. BILLING
*Qualifying Meets: TAAF meet fees and USAG meet fees for Gold, Platinum, and Level 6 will be billed on October 16th. Please write in to office@excitegym.com for any special billing requests.
-Level 1, 2, Bronze: $320
-Level 3, 4, 5, 6, Silver, Gold, Platinum: $340 + Travel meet fees (amounts TBA on future hotlines)
-USAG Gold, Platinum, Level 6: USAG qualifiers & Travel meet fees to be posted on next week’s hotline
*Banquet fees will be auto drafted for athletes + one parent on January 31st with February tuition. Additional parent ticket purchasing information will be posted on future hotlines. (Amounts TBA)
*State Meet Fees: TAAF State meet fees and USAG Gold, Platinum, and Level 6 state meet fees will be billed on March 15th, 2024. (Amounts TBA).
4. DRESS CODE
*For dress code, you don’t have to wear a leo that is the specified color. If the color is yellow, but you don’t have a yellow leo, you can wear yellow shorts, a yellow headband, a yellow scrunchie, etc.
*It is mandatory that all gymnasts wear a leo to every practice. Hair must be neatly pulled back, secured out of their face. Tight fitting bar shorts or capris are allowed.
