1. IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS

PROSHOP UPDATE

SPIRIT SALE: LAST CHANCE: Spirit Sale closes Friday 8/25!

BACKPACKS: All backpacks have been sent for embroidery. They should be coming back in 2-3 weeks and will be passed out when they arrive.

PRO TIP: As you are receiving new items, please LABEL everything with your child’s name!

SMILE WEEK @ THE GYM—NEXT WEEK

*This next week will be SMILE WEEK THEME at the gym! We are doing this to honor Brandi Nobel’s brother Chance that passed away in June. Chance was such a giving and caring person. He was a Shriner Clown and visited kids in burn wards and more. He lived by saying “a SMILE can change everything”. He asked us all just to give a smile—it is free and means so much. His clown name was Ocho and he was at spent time at cheer competitions every year raising funds for children in need. He passed away from cancer, but he lived 6 years more than they expected, with little miracles along the way for sure!

*Everyone is free to wear yellow all week but Wednesday we want everyone in either a yellow something or a smile shirt for Brandi. Do not feel like you need to go buy anything—just a little touch of yellow would be wonderful! We will have smile stickers too.

HOLIDAY CLOSING

*The gym will be CLOSED for Labor Day September 1st-4th

MUSIC AND CHOREOGRAPHY INFO—Gold, Platinum, Level 6

*MUSIC: It’s time to send in your top three music choices for the new year! Music is due on September 3rd (Please send in the link for each piece). Coaches will listen to your choices and let athletes know at practice on September 5th which music they will use for the 2024 competitive season. Do not purchase music until you have been told by coaches which one to get.

-Use one of the following music generator websites to look through the options. Make sure all three choices you send are something that you would be happy with. You are welcome to put “first choice, second choice, third choice”, but it is not guaranteed that you will get your first choice of music.

-What are coaches looking for when choosing music? Floor music is best when there is a change of beat/tempo within the music. Sound effects are great too! Think about the style of movement that would match each music piece and think about what you are comfortable trying. Faster music generally means faster movements—keep this in mind when sending in your options!

-CHOREOGRAPHY: On September 7th, we will post the sign-up genius on the hotline for you to set up a time to get your choreography done. Each coach will have a set number of spots and times to get everyone’s choreography done. Choreography time slots will be set up for three hours and cost $200 paid directly to your choreographer, the day that your choreography is done.
