ALL TEAMS: SMILE WEEK
This next week will be SMILE WEEK THEME at the gym!
We are doing this to honor Brandi Nobel’s brother chance that passed away in June. Brandi is a specialty coach that comes in to help athletes and coaches throughout the season- she is incredible!!
Chance was such a giving and caring person. He was a Shriner Clown and visited kids in burn wards and more.
He lived by saying “a SMILE can change everything”. He asked us all just to give a smile, it is free and means so much.
His clown name was Ocho and for those that remember the Spirit Celebration day, he was at those competitions every year raising funds for children in need.
He passed away from cancer, but he lived 6 years more than they thought, little miracles along the way for sure!
Everyone is free to wear yellow all week but on Tuesday and Wednesday we want everyone in either a yellow something or a smile shirt for Brandi. Do not feel you need to go buy anything; even a ribbon is great! We will have smile stickers too.
She is planning on being here Monday-Wednesday at this time.
ALL TEAMS: ACRO TRYOUTS
Acro tryouts will now be on August 26th 12pm-1pm (Mandatory parent meeting 12:30pm-1pm)! Reminder that this is a GREAT compliment to cheer and we will be sure it works with our cheer schedule! We are now offering this to athletes ages 5 and up!
ALL STAR: INSPIRE APPLICATIONS
It is time for us to start another season of Inspire, our cheerleaders with special abilities! We are in need for volunteers to be assistant coaches for these athletes. This team will practice on Sundays from 12:45pm-1:30pm and will attend 3 local events (these are listed on the program schedule). This is an incredible team to be a part of! Our season will start on September 10th and will go until February 3rd. Please fill out the application form below and turn it into the front office. APPLICATIONS ARE DUE BY AUGUST 31ST TO BE CONSIDERED!

ALL STAR TEAMS: OBSERVATION ROOM
Due to the high volume in our observation room, we will be making Monday and Wednesday practices closed for viewing but will have Sundays be open practices for you to watch. This will start on September 10th.
ALL STAR: ELITE FLYER CLASS- MANDATORY
These will be starting up on Sunday, September 10th. This is only for the names listed below. We will also be starting a Flyer BAND- invites will be sent out on or prior to the 10th. All names below are already enrolled.
12:30pm-1:45pm: Lady eX flyers (Rachael, Taryn and Kenzie)
3pm-3:45pm: Courage flyers (Madalyn, Kali, Quinn, Jordyn and Hadley) and Dynamite flyers (Sarah, Lucy, Indy, Kaytin and Savannah)
4:30-5:15pm: Obsession flyers (Lindsey, Adi, Olivia, Audrey M, Leah, Ella and Peyton) and Fearless flyers (Annalise, Drey, Claire and Brooklyn)
PREMIER PREP: FLYER OPPORTUNITY
For the names listed below, we will allow you to attend the All Star flyer class on Sundays for FREE! This is not mandatory but is a great opportunity to build flexibility and flying experience to be ready for All Star next season. This class will run on Sundays starting September 10th from 12:30pm-1:45pm.

Delaney is a dancer and certified personal trainer, helping dancers/gymnasts/cheerleaders reach their goals and prevent injuries with strength, flexibility, and technique training.
She will be running clinics at the from on Saturday and Sunday- August 26th and 27th!

ALL TEAMS: ABSENT REQUESTS/ ABSENCE REMINDERS
Friendly Reminders as we get into the school year:
-Turn in all absence request at least 2 weeks in advance. Athletes cannot miss 2 weeks out from any competition/ performance.
-Allotted absences will restart on September 1st. You will be allotted another 5 absences for September through March. Remember that this includes any absence for any reason and that if you attend a portion of practice it will NOT go towards your number.
-Absent Requests are to be emailed to cheer@excitegym.com. Include athlete name, team name, reasoning, if event is school graded and date.
All of this is in the handbook but we wanted to give another reminder since schedules are going to be busy! Please look ahead for any school events and send in requests as soon as possible!
PREMIER PREP AND ALL STAR: USASF MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS

For some of the events we are attending this year, there is a requirement for your athlete to have an account with USASF (U.S. All Star Federation). This is something that YOU are responsible for, the gym cannot do it for you.
This has deadline of SEPTEMBER 1ST to be completed. After September 1st, you will be charged $15 per week until completed.

Extra notes:
– You will have to pay for this membership; we have this listed as additional expenses in our handbook.
-If your athlete will be 18 before June 1st, 2024- they will have to complete a background check and a safety course. These can take some time to clear so get started on that now!
-This will require a government issued ID to make your athlete’s account. You can use a birth certificate, drivers license or passport.
-Do not use autofill! There have been issues in the past with this so we suggest typing everything in yourself.
-If you have any questions or issues, please email support@usasf.net. The gym cannot access your account to help so you will need to contact them directly.
ALL TOP GIRLS: STUNTING PRIVATES NOW AVAILABLE!!
Excite! Coaches Alyssa & Jake are now offering flyer stunt privates. Our focus for these lessons is for the athletes to learn great technique and improve on body positions at all levels. Each session will have the 2 coaches basing and putting athlete’s in the air. Time slots available Wednesdays 3PM – 5PM and Friday 4PM– 7PM. These can be 30-minute sessions or 60-minute sessions. PRO TIP: As you are receiving new items, please be sure to LABEL everything with your child’s name!
PREP & NOVICE & PREMIER PREP: Uniforms were passed out on Tuesday/Wednesday. If you have any sizing concerns or issue, please email into cheer@excitegym.com and include a picture of your athlete in the uniform and explain what concerns you have. Bows will be passed out at a later date.
NOVICE: At this point, we will no longer be exchanging shoes. You can order any white cheer shoe online.
ALL STAR: Uniforms and backpacks will be passed out at our 1st Sunday practice on September 10th. Bows will be passed out at a later date.

February 25th-28th: NCA Week! Premier Prep and All-Star teams will practice every day during this time period.
February 29th: Potential Practice- Premier Prep and All Star. You will find out on Wednesday night if your team is practicing this date.
February 26th-29th: NO HALF SEASON, NOVICE OR PREP TEAM PRACTICES. This is due to NCA week and those teams needing to come in extra. This was listed in your handbook.
March 1st-3rd: NCA NATIONALS! Premier Prep will compete on the 1st. Courage will compete on the 1st and 2nd. Dynamite, Obsession, Fearless and Lady eX will compete on the 2nd and 3rd.
March 10th-17th: GYM CLOSED FOR SPRING BREAK. Practices and classes will resume on Monday the 18th.
March 22nd: Extra Practice- Novice and Prep. Times TBD.
March 23rd: COMPETITION- Novice and Prep
March 30th: End of season for Novice Teams *Novice end of year party TBD*
